Sillerenbühl / Adelboden - Lenk
In winter or summer, the cable-cars from Adelboden and Lenk make the region one of the largest and most attractive snow sports and walking areas in Switzerland

Tschentenalp (1940 m)
Adelboden's "mountain of views", Tschentenalp, only seven minutes from the village centre by cabin lift, offers family-friendly skiing, sledging and walking.

Engstligenalp (2000 m)
Adelboden's "mountain of insight" Engstligenalp lies some 2000m above sea level. The high plateau at the foot of Wildstrubel invites you to walk, free-ride, cross-country ski and to enjoy!

Elsigenalp (1800 m)
Elsigenalp / Metschalp, Frutigen¿s skiing and walking centre invites you to enjoy some memorable days in its personal and relaxed atmosphere.

Niesen (2336 m)
The funicular takes you up to an altitude of 2336 m. The stairway that runs parallel to the Niesen funicular has a total of 11,674 steps, which according to the Guiness Book of Records makes it the world's longest stairway. From the Niesen Kulm you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Bernese Alps, down into the Simmen and Frutig valleys and over Lake Thun. The Niesen Kulm mountain guest-house is renowned for its raclette evenings.

Bern - Die charmante schweizer Hauptstadt
Beautiful Berne is only a one-hour rail trip from Interlaken, and escorted coach tours may be booked from Interlaken Tourism. This is a city of medieval magic, listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. Attractions include the famous Bearpits - home to Berne's heraldic animals - and excellent shopping arcades

Freilichtmuseum Ballenberg (April till Oktober)
This unique museum offers a fascinating insight into Swiss rural dwellings and lifestyles dating back several centuries. The many attractions include some 90 buildings, farm animals, plus demonstrations and displays of farming trades and traditional crafts.

BLS - Shipping on Lake Thun
Hourly cruises on Lake Thun between Thun, the lakeside towns and Interlaken West, in both directions, are a matter of course. Services are operated by nine engine-powered ships and one steamer, the Blüemlisalp, a tribute to the good old days. Hot and cold seasonal meals are served on all scheduled services, with the ship's crew also providing catering for charters and additional sailings. Cruises on Lake Thun promise to be both relaxing and entertaining.
